A Mashreq Al Islami credit card is a Shari’ah compliant credit card from Mashreq Al Islami based on the Islamic law which means that no interest is charged on the outstanding amount. It is governed by the Shari’ah concept of “TAWARRUQ”; Tawarruq is a financial transaction in which a customer purchases a commodity from a seller/bank on a deferred payment basis, and then sells the same commodity to a third party on a spot payment basis.

It means that the Credit Card is designed and developed under the Islamic laws; which is approved by the Shari’ah supervisory board. Mashreq Al Islami Credit Cards work like conventional credit cards; however, Mashreq Al Islami credit cards are Shari'ah compliant cards (no interest, no hidden cost). If the customer makes a full payment of the card outstanding on or before the due date, then the customer will not be charged any Profit amount, however if the customer chooses to pay the minimum outstanding, the Tawarruq Profit rate will be applied on the remaining balance through commodity trade.

Yes; since the Mashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire Credit Card is based on Shari’ah principles, it cannot be used for transactions prohibited by “Islam” such as gambling, alcohol and transactions at clubs, Pubs and Casinos etc. Such transactions will not be considered and will be declined immediately.

• Tawarruq (commodity Murabaha) - Customer buys an easily saleable asset at a marked-up price, to be paid at a later date, and quickly sells the asset to raise cash.
• Tawarruq profit rate – If the client chooses to settle only the minimum of the total amount due, the Bank and the customer will enter into Murabaha transaction(s), and in this event the statement sent to the Customer shall be treated as an offer from the Bank to the Customer for the Murabaha transaction. Bank will sell certain commodities after the due date, that it owns and which maybe a share of bulk metal stock; to the customer at a cost plus profit basis (“Murabaha Selling Price”) which will be the aggregate of the Murabaha cost and the profit that the bank shall charge on the Tawarruq for each billing cycle at the Tawarruq Profit Rate (“Tawarruq Profit”). In case such sale is not objected by the Customer, within 3 days from the issue date of the statement, it will be regarded as deemed acceptance from the Customer. Post acceptance of the Customer, Bank will communicate the offer to sell to the broker and, once accepted by the broker, Bank will set-off the outstanding Murabaha Selling Price against the sale proceeds (received from the sale to the broker), and the Bank creates a receivable of Tawarruq Profit towards the customer with Tawarruq. In this sale, Bank will be messenger and facilitator (as described further in the Additional Terms and Conditions applicable across all Islamic Products). The Cardholder/Customer can check the Quantity and Type of the Commodity used in the Tawarruq Transaction(s) from MAI website.
• If the Cardholder pays the full outstanding balance on or before the due date, no Tawarruq shall take place, in which event the statement sent to the Customer shall not be considered as an offer from the Bank to the Customer for the Murabaha transaction.

You need to make total purchases of AED 10,000 or more on your Mashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire Card in the previous month’s statement to enjoy unlimited complimentary access to Fitness First in the following month. Both primary and supplementary cardholders are eligible for this benefit. Purchases made on the primary card as well as the supplementary cards are included for calculation of the AED 10,000 spend threshold. Please note that AED 5 will be charged on your Mashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire credit card for every complimentary visit to a Fitness First outlet, which will be automatically reversed within 60 days. If the minimum spend requirement is not met, a fee of AED 50 will be applicable for every visit to Fitness First. 

You are entitled to 6 complimentary Limousine Services every calendar year on your Mashreq Al IslamiEmirati Solitaire Card, with a maximum of one service in a month. Any additional services used over and above the monthly or yearly allowance will be billed to your Card. You need to make total purchases of AED 10,000 or more on your Mashreq Al Islmai Emirati Solitaire Card in the previous month’s statement to avail this service in the following month. If the minimum spend requirement is not met, the usage fee for this service will be billed to yourMashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire Card. Usage fee will vary as per the pick up or drop off location.

You need to call the Mashreq Al Islami Call Centre at least 4 business days in advance from the date & time of pick up/drop off. The Call Centre number is printed on the back of your Credit Card. The bank’s Call Centre representative will ask for your travel details to share with the service provider. Upon confirmation, the service provider will send an email confirmation to your registered e-mail ID, and share details of your chauffeur over SMS 12 to 24 hours before the pick-up time. You will then need to coordinate with the chauffeur to receive the service.

You can get 12 complimentary airport lounge visits in a calendar year subject to fulfillment of the below spend criteria: - 1 international transaction >1 USD every calendar year; it may take up to 15 days for the information of meeting eligibility criteria to be visible on the Lounge Key system. If the card is replaced, then > 1 USD transaction is mandatory on the replaced card to become eligible for the lounge benefit within the calendar year - If you do not meet the above spend criteria, then you can receive 2 complimentary airport lounge visits in a calendar year (to be used twice by the Cardholder or once by the Cardholder and a Guest). Visits are applicable for the Cardholder or the Cardholder and guest (up to one complimentary guest per visit).

Any additional services used over and above the monthly or yearly allowance will be billed to your Card. You need to make total purchases of AED 10,000 or more on your Mashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire Card in the previous month’s billing cycle to enjoyl this service in the following month.  If the minimum spend requirement is not met, the usage fee for this service will be billed to your Mashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire Card. You need to book a golf session or a golf game a minimum of 15 days and a maximum of 21 days in advance (excluding the date of play and the date of booking). You will normally be contacted within 2-3 working days, as per the preferred mode of contact selected by you at the time of booking. Please note, that you will be required to carry your Mashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire Credit card so that the Golf Club can do a transaction of AED 1 to authenticate the Mashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire Credit Card. Cancellations will be accepted only if made 4 days prior to the booked time of play. In the event of a no show, the booking will be counted under your complimentary number of rounds for the month.

All other costs and charges such as food & beverage expenses, consumables, rental of golfing equipment, golf-cart (buggy) charges, caddy fees and more are to be borne by the Cardholder. You will be required to pay directly at the club for buggy, caddie, turf mate and insurance at normal published rates at the golf course, as applicable.

All purchases on your Mashreq Al Islam iEmirati Solitaire Credit Card, including Supplementary, will be eligible and counted against the minimum purchase amount required to enjoy the complimentary benefits. Bank Fee/Charges, Cash advances and Balance Transfer/Easy Cash transactions will not be counted under the minimum purchase amount. 

Total purchases on yourMashreq Al Islami Emirati Solitaire credit card as per the billing statement will be considered to unlock complimentary benefits for the next billing month. For example, your statement for the month of March 2021 generated on 8th April 2021 and you have made total eligible purchases worth AED 11,500 as per the statement. Since you have achieved the minimum purchase amount in the March statement, you will be eligible to avail complimentary benefits like Fitness First, Golf, Valet Parking, Airport Transfer, Marhaba Meet & Greet and Car Assistance
