As the takaful contribution is affected by the profile of the driver, it is not possible to simply transfer takaful cover from one driver to another. The existing policy must be cancelled. The new owner will then be given a new takaful that is required for registration purposes.

If you have selected agency repairs, then your vehicle will be repaired at the vehicle’s authorized dealership. Otherwise, you will select one of its own authorized repairers. You will have an approved panel of garages that adhere to their stipulated quality controls. Garages must have experienced, qualified personnel and access to sophisticated repair equipment. The Traffic Department insists on a 13-month takaful certificate each time you register a vehicle. They provide you with the registration for 12-month and give you a one-month grace period to re-register the following year. The 13-month takaful(Islamic insurance) requirement is intended to reduce the number of uninsured vehicles on the roads. The prompt renewal of the takaful will save you having to pay for another 13-month policy. The 13-month period is valid, in the Traffic Department’s opinion, from the time of registration and not from when you take the takaful. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you renew your takaful when your registration is due, and not when the takaful policy expires.

A rented car shall be provided for the duration of repair / or claim settlement up to a maximum period of ten days per policy period in the event of an accident. You only need to call on 800 SALAMA (800725262) when notifying a claim to avail this benefit.
